Product datasheet system

Template designs for 40+ Antenna Products

Overview

At Intellian, a global B2B satellite communications company, product datasheets were the document sales teams reached for most — and the one that changed most often. With more than 40 antenna products, constant specification updates, and versions in multiple languages, the challenge was never designing a single sheet. It was building a system that kept every sheet accurate, consistent, and unmistakably on-brand.

The Challenge

Each product had different specifications, diagrams, and configuration options, but all of them had to look like one family. Specs changed frequently, regional teams needed their own language versions, and print and PDF editions had to stay in sync.

As the team's sole in-house designer for much of my tenure, I owned the template, the layout system, and every update cycle.

My Role

• Designed and maintained the datasheet template and layout system

• Produced and updated datasheets individually for 40+ antenna products

• Planned and directed product concept shoots for new product lines

• Standardized specification tables, iconography, and technical diagrams for readability

• Managed multilingual versions — English and Korean as standard, plus Japanese, Chinese, and Portuguese editions

• Prepared print-ready files and coordinated production

The System Parabolic Antenna

The parabolic datasheet system uses a minimal, white, portrait layout built around dense technical content: structured spec tables, color-coded connection diagrams, and a consistent cover grid that makes each product instantly identifiable while the family resemblance stays intact.

Diagrams for dual-antenna and Primary/Secondary configurations were drawn to be read at a glance — complex system architecture, simplified into a single page.

Range

The system covered the full maritime portfolio — NX and XEO VSAT series, TVRO (t-Series), Iridium terminals, and OneWeb enterprise products — from compact antennas to the largest v150NX. The cover wall is the evidence: more than 40 products, one visual language.

Multilingual

English and Korean editions were standard for every product, with Japanese, Chinese, and Portuguese versions produced for regional markets. Layouts were designed to absorb different text lengths and reading conventions without breaking the grid — the same sheet, equally clear in every language.

A Second System Flat Panel

When Intellian launched its Flat Panel line with Eutelsat OneWeb, the product needed a different voice. I designed a second, landscape-format template system: a sunset ocean hero image, a navy band, and icon-led feature columns under co-branding with Eutelsat OneWeb. The current distributed editions (Enterprise OW11FL/FM/FV, Compact OW10HL/HM/HV) still run on this template — later specification updates were applied as text on top of the design system I built.

A Special Edition GMDSS — Kormarine

For Kormarine in Busan, I created a special exhibition edition of the GMDSS sheet. I replaced the standard cover with a calm, starlit ocean hero with ships on the horizon, keeping the icon-led feature columns over it.

I also planned and directed the product concept shoot for the four terminals — SDT, MF/HF, VHF and NAVTEX — shooting them at a consistent angle and light so the set inside reads as one family. I added the Iridium Certus GMDSS and Inmarsat Fleet Safety compatibility notes in Korean for the local audience.

The same system thinking extended across Intellian's corporate documents — from the 46-page ESG sustainability reports (Korean and English) to IR presentation templates and PDF case studies — one designer keeping a global company's product and corporate literature consistent for seven years.
